VIPS

What Is a VIP?

A VIP is a volunteer for the Long Beach Unified School District!
We would absolutely love to have you join the school community! Volunteers are the true heartbeat of our classrooms, and becoming a cleared VIPS (Volunteer in Public Schools) is an incredible way to support our students, connect with teachers, and share in your child's daily milestones.
While the district has a few standard safety checkpoints, the process is designed to welcome you into the school family with open arms.

What Can I Do as a VIP?

Once you are cleared, you can choose the volunteer style that best fits your schedule and comfort level:
  • Classroom Helper: Cheer on students during reading groups, prep art projects, or celebrate at holiday parties.
  • Field Trip Chaperone: Explore museums, parks, and science centers alongside the kids.
  • Campus Cheerleader: Help out at the school book fair, cheer them on at field days, or assist with morning drop-off lines.
  • Special Talents: Share a passion for art, gardening, career mentorship, or organizing community events.
